FOREX Strikes Deal With Diebold Nixdorf To Manage Its Currency Exchange ATMs

FOREX, the Nordic currency exchange, has outsourced the entirety of its ATM channel management to Diebold Nixdorf, whilst expanding its fleet with the firm’s DN SeriesTM devices.

Since most of its five million customers are busy international travellers, foreign exchange is naturally FOREX’s most popular service, both within its 80 branches across Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway and at its ATMs.

FOREX ATMs offer a total of 12 different currencies, making the self-service channel a critical factor in its digital transformation to an automated service model.

Indeed, maintaining such a system requires a lot of effort, and it’s a task that is now to be managed by Diebold Nixdorf’s DN SeriesTM devices.

“Since many of our customers are travellers, it’s very important that our ATMs are available around the clock, and it’s more efficient for us to partner with an expert in the ATM technology space,” comments Ann-Charlotte Bergstroem, manager of strategic relationships and ATM at FOREX.

“By using Diebold Nixdorf’s managed services solutions, we can keep downtime to a minimum, which gives us peace of mind to focus on serving our customers.”

Leveraging this self-service solution will see Diebold Nixdorf manage, monitor, install, maintain and repair the hardware and software lifecycle of FOREX’s multicurrency ATMs.

Additionally, the service will now manage all security and compliance issues, as well as the reporting of live transaction data. The entire solution is integrated with Diebold Nixdorf’s service desk.

With the ink now dry on the agreement, the entire fleet will now be comprised of Diebold Nixdorf devices.

The technology involved in the DN Series will allow FOREX to now offer a wider range of currencies, whilst the firm remains hopeful that the ATMs’ interactive screens, touting marketing messages and campaigns, will develop and deepen customer relationships; an extremely important feature in today’s self-service environment.

“We love the new DN Series. As our ATMs are our brand ambassadors, modern and innovative design is very important for us,” comments Carolina Bopp, senior dealer at FOREX. “We’re glad to have a fleet that looks great and is both secure and available in such a compact size. It’s a real competitive advantage for us.”

Security and compliance are a top priority, and the DN Series solution provides a layered security approach to protect against traditional and emerging physical, data and cyber threats.

To further optimise each branch, the ATMs will be connected to the DN AllConnectSM data engine, which aggregates and analyses technical data using cloud computing and machine learning software.

This feature will enable Diebold Nixdorf to generate personalised, actionable insights for each device, helping to decrease the number of incidents and resolution time and guarantee market-leading availability.

“We’re excited to build on our partnership with FOREX to help them meet consumers’ needs and offer new, consumer journeys,” comments Helena Muller, area sales lead, Northern Europe, at Diebold Nixdorf.

“DN AllConnect ServicesSM provides a flexible service solution that’s designed to accelerate their performance and enable growth and continued innovation.”
