Further, the online banking penetration is forecasted to amount to 4.59% in 2023 and the total transaction value is expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2023-2027) of 14.13% resulting in a projected total amount of US$12.25bn by 2027 (Statista).
Even so, with prevailing issues such as cybersecurity, financial and digital exclusion, cross border payments, concentration risk amongst others, the fintech environment remains at a crucial stage. These challenges not only affect the sector but also Jordan’s economic growth as a whole, affecting the results of digital transformation initiatives of the government.
