Payment orchestration platform Yuno has launched a new feature that enables merchants to proactively resolve transaction disputes before they become chargebacks.
The new tool, dubbed Ethoca Alerts, sends merchants early notifications of potential transaction disputes via the Yuno platform. Merchants can choose to either ignore the alert and see if the transaction becomes a chargeback – a return of funds after a customer disputes the charge on their credit card statement – or to proactively issue a refund to avoid the risk of a chargeback altogether.
In many cases, a refund is often preferred because it enables merchants to resolve customer issues quickly and without incurring additional costs, proactive management of chargebacks will also improve long-term approval rates for merchants.
The alerts feature helps businesses reduce the high fees and heavy administrative burden associated with chargebacks, as well as to stay below critical chargeback thresholds with card networks, avoiding penalties and reputational damage.

“Chargebacks have long been a major challenge for merchants, adding unnecessary costs and administrative burdens,” explained Mariana Castellanos, strategic partnerships manager at Yuno. “With Ethoca Alerts, we’re giving businesses the power to act before disputes ever turn into chargebacks. By receiving early notifications, merchants can resolve issues upfront or issue refunds proactively, protecting their revenue and reputation with card networks. This proactive approach is invaluable for merchants, especially gaming platforms, subscription services, and e-commerce marketplaces, where chargeback risks are highest.”
Ethoca Alerts improves the overall customer experience by empowering businesses to save shoppers from the hassle of going through the lengthy chargeback process themselves.
Yuno’s other features include access to over 1,000 global payment methods, one-click checkout, AI-powered anti-fraud tools, and Smart Routing, which prevents revenue loss by automatically redirecting failed payments through the next best available payment pathway.
