Envisioning the Future of Vietnam’s Digital Economy

In an uncertain global economy facing geopolitical tensions, shifting supply chains bring about unease as the gains and losses are not tallied before policies take effect. Pursuing a balanced and stable growth of more than 6.5% gross domestic product (GDP) – 7.1% in 2018, 6.9% in the third quarter of 2019 – is very much on the cards with the European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement due to eliminate over 99% of customs duties boosting a percentage point to the GDP.

Around the developing world, it is the aim of regulators to bring central banking closer to the people; for financial services to serve the common folk. In order for banking practices and policies to drive positive benefits, financial services has to be a pertinent part of everyday life and should not be exclusive and elusive. From ride-hailing applications and e-commerce to infrastructure for financial integration, consumers, retailers and financial services providers work with data seamlessly, deriving insights for on-demand service delivery in wealth management and payments in Vietnam.

Finance Vietnam 2020 is the leading annual conference for fostering sustainable innovation not only among financial institutions like banks and insurance companies, but also disruptors and related players. The conversations during the event will help update leaders and decision makers with the latest ideas from key influencers on the transformational issues shaping the financial services industry.
