Global payments platform Airwallex is supporting money management app Plum with the launch of its new stock investing feature. Following their partnership, Plum can collect, hold and convert funds in multiple currencies.
Chosen as Plum’s global payments and FX partner, Airwallex will help customers trade in more than 500 US stocks across a range of large tech brands and options, including major fortune 500 businesses.
The Plum app sets aside what each person can afford, finds better deals on everyday bills, offers useful spending insights and provides a platform for easy-access investments.
With the Airwallex integration, Plum – which has more than 1.5 million in its community – can collect, hold and convert funds in multiple currencies and bring to market new features to customers on their investing journey.
Jed Rose, general manager EMEA at Airwallex, said: “We are excited to be Plum’s partner of choice as they look to grow internationally, supporting them on their latest stock investing feature. Our global financial infrastructure aims to empower businesses just like Plum, enabling them to operate anytime and anywhere. We look forward to deepening our partnership and together, continuing to innovate through technology.”
While, Victor Trokoudes, Plum’s CEO and co-founder, added: “More than ever, people [across Europe] are looking to fintech to help grow their wealth. Plum’s investments are designed to offer a simple way to invest, starting with just £1, and Airwallex is the perfect cross-border payments and FX partner to support our mission.
“Their strong technological infrastructure and dedicated engineering support team has allowed for a seamless integration process, and has enabled us with an efficient, transparent and cost-effective method solution for the launch of our stocks investing feature. We look forward to supporting our customers on their financial journey and are grateful to have Airwallex’s technology working in the background to power our new stock investing platform.”
Last month, Plum appointed Phu Ly as Product VP to spearhead its growing product offering. As well as the US stock investing product, it also plans to introduce EU and UK stocks, and crypto assets, later in 2022.
While, Airwallex, which has built a financial infrastructure and platform to help businesses manage online payments, treasury and payout without the constraints of the traditional financial system, also recently partnered with Qantas for its new financial services offering, Qantas Business Money.
