Ozone API Expands Team as it Looks to Capitalise in LATAM

Ozone API, a standards-based software developer for open finance, has expanded its global team with new hires, aiming to strengthen the company’s presence in the Latin America (LATAM) region and beyond.

Fabio Caldeira has joined Ozone as general manager in the LATAM region. Caldeira previously held a role as head of operations at operational management platform provider Solvace. Prior to this, he also operated as the new platforms manager at TecBan, which manages auto-service banking networks in Brazil.

These roles ensure that Caldeira joins the Ozone team with a wealth of experience from within the LATAM region, as his appointment aims to help the developer grow its footprint. The role will also see Caldeira work with Ozone’s customers and strategic partners in Brazil. The role’s overall focus is providing banks, fintechs and financial institutions with Ozone’s open API technology.

Similarly in November 2022, Ozone appointed Evghenii Malevanchuk as its new head of product. The hire added to the company’s international team which also covers the UK, Europe and the Middle East alongside LATAM.

Fabio Caldeira commented on his move to Ozone API. He explained: “Banks across LATAM face challenges in building products which take advantage of the capabilities of Open Finance. Our main goal is to provide customers with the technical foundations which help them to build a new layer of services.

“I am very pleased to be working with Ozone API once more. It is an honour to collaborate with the pioneers who designed the world’s first open banking standard. The future in LATAM is very bright and I look forward to playing an important role in the future of Open Finance across the region.”

Fabio first collaborated with Ozone during his tenure at TecBan, which operates Brazil’s ATM network.

Huw Davies, chief commercial officer and co-founder of Ozone API, said: “We are delighted to welcome Fabio to the Ozone API team. Brazil and the entire LATAM region are at pivotal stages in the development of Open Finance. We look forward to working even more closely with our partners and customers to help them comply with regulations and go beyond compliance to build new revenue streams based on open APIs.”
