GoodBox Increased Donations to Religious Organisations by 59% in 2021

GoodBox, a fintech revolutionising how we give, has published a new report highlighting how donations to religious organisations increased in 2021. Believers across the UK have rallied to support their places of worship with the average donation value increasing by 59% compared to pre-COVID levels.

Religious Organisations have been adopting contactless technology to help maximise donations in an increasingly cashless society. These devices allow organisations to not only take card payments seamlessly but also to set donations to a specific amount, depending on the device, and the data from GoodBox highlighted just how generous worshipers have been with the average donation now up to £13.75.

The report in association with Contactless Giving Week and GoodBox also highlighted that August 2021 was a record month for contactless donations in the UK with a huge 77% increase on the previous record which was set in December 2019.

GoodBox’s range of digital fundraising tools and award-winning contactless technology are used by non-profits across the UK to reach new donors, raise more funds and tell their stories more vividly.

GoodBox Co-Founder & Managing Director Francesca Hodgson says: “It is amazing to see the generosity of the UK public especially during such a difficult economic period and we are delighted to see so many of religious partners benefitting from this.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that charities have access to our innovative tools to help them access new donors and raise funds without having to rely on just cash donations and these new milestones show just how impactful and important are solutions are.”
