Fintechs Go Supersonic at First-Ever Fintech Awards South West

Moneyhub, Hargreaves Lansdown and Joiin were among the winners at the inaugural Fintech Awards South West, held under the wings of the world famous Concorde in Bristol on Thursday evening.

The Fintech Awards South West celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of fintech companies in the South West of the UK, including Bristol, Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Organised by leading fintech recruitment company Recruit 121 Group, the Awards were established to showcase the region’s innovative and thriving fintech community and bring together industry leaders, investors and entrepreneurs to celebrate their successes.

Shortlisted companies for this year’s first-ever Awards were selected by a panel of expert judges – Joanne Dewar, a recognised leader and influencer in the payments industry, experienced technologist Mark Walker, technology engineering expert Gillian Lamela, Anita Kimber, a leading fintech strategist and Stuart Harrison, founder of Fintech West – who reviewed entries from a wide range of fintech companies across the region.

Hosted by Recruit 121 Group with partner Fintech West and primary sponsor EY, Fintech Awards South West took place on Thursday 6 July at the impressive Aerospace Bristol, where guests mingled in the Concorde Gallery under the wings of the supersonic passenger jet.

Matt Hyde, managing director at Fintech Awards South East, said: “Just like the iconic Concorde, the South West is soaring to new heights in fintech innovation. This first-class region is a hotbed of creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its thriving fintech pioneers, as they embark on their entrepreneurial journey. Congratulations to all the winners, and may they continue to achieve great success in shaping the future of finance.”
