Featured Speaker Spotlight: Dave Kappos former nder Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office

We are a media partner for OSSF18 and we’re announcing a featured speaker of the Open Source Strategy Forum 2018: Dave Kappos.

A partner at the leading firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, Kappos is one of the world’s most prominent intellectual property attorneys. Previously, he was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a post he held from 2009 to 2013.

Kappos will present Accounting for Patents in Collaborative Development, showing how contributors to open source and open standards can come to terms around the licensing of standard-essential patents. His talk will explore the history of open source development, open source definition, and patent law to show that open source and SEPs can work together to protect intellectual property rights and spur innovation.

Our offer: Limited FREE tickets available, use code FinTechTimes at registration (£299 in value?) https://bit.ly/2kv3heg
